Porsche designs unique homes, and Lexus is presenting its innovative vision of luxury at the Design Week exhibition in Milan. At this year’s Salone del Mobile, Lexus presented the “Time” exhibition, which showcases the future of luxury. The exhibition combines sustainability and tradition, offering a reflection on the possibilities of technology in the years to come. The Japanese luxury car brand presented two installations that embody the essence of human-centered design. so what does it look like luxury according to Lexus?
Luxury according to Lexus: the art of light and personalization
The first of the installations, “Beyond the Horizon,” was created by Hideki Yoshimoto, founder of the Tangent studio. It’s an amazing immersive space that consists of identical panels inspired by traditional Japanese washi paper. When the panels light up, their internal structures turn out to be different, symbolizing the evolution of identical elements in unique ways. The installation is accompanied by immersive music by composer Keiichiro Shibuyi, which consists of random layers of sound, providing a unique experience for each viewer. Luxury according to Leksus is modernity and respect for tradition.
8 Minutes and 20 Seconds: an energetic solar sculpture
The second installation, “8 Minutes and 20 Seconds,” is an interactive solar-activated device. It was designed by Dutch designer Marjan van Aubel. The sculpture comes to life at unexpected intervals thanks to organic photovoltaic panels. The time it takes for light to travel from the sun to Earth symbolizes the central concept of respect for the environment. It is the key to understanding the new vision arts and redefining mobility.
The synergy of man and technology
The “Time” exhibition is a reflection of the endless possibilities that technology will bring in the coming years. In particular, the revolutionary power of Software Defined Vehicles (SDVs). Installations included the Lexus LF-ZC model. It is a concept electric car that shows how the synergy between hardware and software can define the interaction between man and car.
The future of human-centered design
Koichi Suga, general manager of the design department at Lexus, stresses that software can enhance the entire travel experience. On board a car, it creates tailor-made luxury for the individual. This is what true exclusivity and luxury according to Lexus is all about.

Lexus aims to facilitate the synergy of man and technology, which should be affordable and exciting. The goal is to create modern and functional cars that inspire excitement and passion. The “Time” exhibition shows how human-centered design can help build the next generation of mobility, harmoniously combining craftsmanship and cutting-edge technology.
