In the glare of the spotlight, amidst daring creations and the rustle of perfectly tailored fabrics, the New York Met Gala 2025 took us on a fascinating journey through the history of fashion and identity. This year’s keynote – “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”. – was more than just a fashion theme. It is a tribute to black elegance, dandyism and the power of expression spelled out in cut, color and style. Inspired by the bookSlaves to Fashion Professor Monica L. Miller, the gala became a living manifesto of how fashion is becoming the language of culture, freedom and dignity. It was an evening in which not only styles, but also stories – of belonging, individualism and pride – emerged from under the designers’ needles.
MET GALA 2025
The Met Gala 2025 was like the opening of a fairytale dressing room – full of history, courage and personality. On the red carpet appeared true giants of style: Zendaya wowed with theatrical chic. While Diana Ross dazzled with an 18-foot-long train embroidered with the names of her children. Pharrell Williams interpreted the classics in the spirit of a futuristic dandy. This year the atmosphere was both fashion fest and manifesto – elegance mixed with an intimate story of identity. The theme of “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” came to life in hundreds of variations on the suit theme, from luxurious tailcoats to bold short sets. You could feel the pride, creativity and joy of being seen – because it’s not just fashion, it’s a story dressed in fabric.
The most important creation and timeless styles
This year’s Met Gala was a true parade of masterful tailoring. On the other hand, classics met extravagance. Therefore, color and form became tools of the story of identity. Deep colors – purple, black, navy blue – dominated, as well as subtle pastels and gold details that emphasized refinement and craftsmanship. The fashions? From sculptural silhouettes to the flowing lines of ball skirts and perfectly tailored blazers, each piece was a manifesto of style and history.
The most important creations of the evening MET GALA 2025
- Zendaya in Pharell Williams project – A minimalist, perfectly tailored suit. With its widened pants and beautiful jacket and vest, Zendaya’s creation mixed classics with daring. The whole look was complemented by a hat with a large brim.

- Diana Ross at Ugo Moz – A monumental gown with an 18-meter-long train embroidered with the names of her children and grandchildren, in shades of white and gold, was a tribute to family and heritage.

- A$AP Rocky at AWGE – A double-breasted suit in technical wool inspired by Marmot jackets from Harlem, with a hint of retro-sports style. It is a nostalgic journey to the years of the rapper’s youth.

- Pharrell Williams at Louis Vuitton – styling that balances between western romanticism and futuristic minimalism: a short jacket with wide shoulders, high-waisted pants and a distinctive hat.

- Anne Hathaway in Carolina Herrera – white shirt and monumental skirt with train, a haute couture classic with a twist à la André Leon Talley. It is a subtle nod to the fashion legend.

- Doechii at Louis Vuitton – bold short suit version, with geometric cut and rich details. Therefore, it redefines the concept of the feminine dandy. Boldly and with an idea.

All these creations were not only breathtaking. They also fit perfectly into the spirit of the exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” – being a celebration of individualism, memory and the power of expression.
