Today, Gniew Castle is a complex that combines history and modernity. The Knights’ Hotel, the Royal Castle and the Palace of Marysienka offer a total of 250 luxurious rooms. Guests can enjoy restaurants, cafes, knight inns, as well as a SPA & Wellness area. The castle is famous for organizing knight tournaments and historical reconstructions, which attract tourists from all over the world.

Lidzbark Warmiński Castle – where the last witch of Europe was burned

Lidzbark Warmiński is a city with a rich history. The castle of the Bishops of Warmia is its most important monument. Built in the 14th century, it was the seat of the bishops of Warmia and served a defensive function. It was here that Barbara Zdunk, believed to be the last witch in Europe, was burned at the stake in 1811.
