The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut has once again made automotive history. On June 6, 2026, the Swedish hypercar set new performance records for a production car, becoming the first ever to break the 300 km/h barrier during a quarter-mile sprint. The result achieved by Christian von Koenigsegg’s creation demonstrates that classic combustion engines can still compete with the world’s most advanced hybrids.
New Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut record – over 300 km/h in the quarter mile
The test was conducted on June 6, 2026, at the Koenigsegg-owned airfield in Ängelholm, Sweden. The car was driven by factory test driver Markus Lundh. The results achieved were verified by specialists from Racelogic, a company specializing in professional performance measurements.
Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut reached a speed of 305.39 km/h at the finish line of the quarter-mile distance. In doing so, it set a new Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut record and became the first production car in the world to surpass the 300 km/h mark during such a short sprint.
Even more impressive is the fact that the car did not use a specially prepared surface typical for drag racing events. The Jesko performed the test on a standard surface, with homologated road tires, and with rear-wheel drive only.
Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut accelerates to 373 km/h over half a mile
The new Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut record, however, was not limited to just the quarter-mile distance. After covering 402 meters, the car continued to accelerate rapidly and reached a speed of 373.87 km/h over the half-mile distance.
This is another historic achievement for a production car. Jesko Absolut has proven that its design was created not only for a spectacular launch, but above all for maintaining extreme speed at very high velocities.
During the record-breaking run, the car also achieved impressive acceleration figures:
- 0–100 km/h: 2.35 seconds,
- 0–200 km/h: 4.88 seconds,
- 0–300 km/h: 8.30 seconds,
- 100–200 km/h: 2.53 seconds,
- 200–300 km/h: 3.43 seconds.
The quarter mile was covered by the car in 8.54 seconds. Meanwhile, it completed the half mile in just 12.76 seconds.
V8 with 1600 HP instead of hybrid support
One of the most remarkable aspects of the record is the way the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut achieved its results. At a time when many of the world’s fastest cars use hybrid powertrains and all-wheel drive, the Swedish design remains true to a classic philosophy.
Power comes from a 5-liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which delivers an impressive 1600 hp and around 1500 Nm of torque when running on E85 fuel. The power is transmitted exclusively to the rear wheels via the proprietary nine-speed Light Speed Transmission (LST).

It is precisely the combination of immense power, extremely low weight, and an ultra-fast transmission that has made it possible to achieve results that, until recently, seemed reserved for race cars.
Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut record thanks to new software
The Swedish manufacturer emphasizes that the performance improvement was made possible primarily by refining the software that controls the car’s operation. The changes will be delivered to all Jesko Absolut owners via OTA (Over-the-Air) updates.
This means that users of already manufactured units will be able to take advantage of the new solutions without the need to visit a service center.
Koenigsegg also notes that the record-breaking run did not require any special mechanical modifications. The car used during the attempt matched the specification available to customers.
Koenigsegg hasn’t had its final say yet
Although the new record set by the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is one of the greatest achievements in modern automotive history, the Swedish brand suggests that the capabilities of its design may be even greater.
Christian von Koenigsegg points out that the Koenigsegg Gemera model may also have enormous potential. The four-seater hypercar uses an advanced hybrid system. Therefore, according to the brand’s announcements, it may set new records in the future.
One thing is certain. The battle for the title of the world’s fastest production car is far from over. Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut has once again proven that a small Swedish manufacturer can challenge the biggest hypercar makers. This car pushes the boundaries of what’s possible on the road.
